MODULE 1

❖ Is the World Destined to Get Worse — or Is the Church Missing Its Assignment?

🎯 MODULE PURPOSE

This module helps the student understand:

why many believers think nothing can be changed
where that belief came from
what the Bible actually teaches
what our responsibility on earth truly is

By the end of this module, the student will no longer think:

“The world is doomed, so nothing matters.”

Instead, they will begin to think:

“God placed me here for a reason.”

🧠 COMMON BELIEF AMONG MANY CHRISTIANS

Many believers have been taught:

“The world must get worse before Jesus comes.”
“We are just passing through.”
“Nothing can be fixed.”
“God is in control, so we don’t need to do anything.”

At first, these statements sound spiritual.
But when examined closely, they produce passive believers.

A passive believer:

does not pray seriously
does not influence society
does not take responsibility
does not expect change

This is not biblical faith.

📖 WHAT DOES THE BIBLE ACTUALLY SAY?

Psalm 115:16

“The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath He given to the children of men.”

This verse is extremely important.

It teaches us three simple truths:

Heaven belongs to God
Earth was given to mankind
God works in the earth through people

God did not give the earth to angels.
God did not give the earth to Satan.
God did not give the earth to governments.

He gave it to humanity.

🧩 WHY THIS MATTERS

If God gave the earth to mankind, then:

conditions on earth are affected by human choices
evil spreads when righteousness withdraws
change happens when God’s people obey

This means:

God is sovereign — but He chose partnership.

God is not weak.
God is not limited.

But God honors the system He established.

⚖️ GOD DOES NOT VIOLATE HIS OWN ORDER

When God created man, He said:

“Let them have dominion.” (Genesis 1:26)

Dominion means:

responsibility
stewardship
authority under God

God did not say:

“I will do everything Myself.”

He said:

“Let them.”

That one phrase shows intention.

🔥 WHY THE WORLD DETERIORATES

The world does not become darker because God wants it dark.

The world becomes darker when:

truth is rejected
righteousness is removed
prayer is abandoned
believers withdraw
fear replaces faith

Darkness does not fight light.

Darkness simply exists when light leaves.

🚫 A DANGEROUS MINDSET: SPIRITUAL FATALISM

Spiritual fatalism says:

“Whatever happens will happen.”

But the Bible does not teach that.

If nothing could change:

God would not send prophets
God would not call people to repent
God would not delay judgment
God would not look for intercessors

Yet Scripture says:

“I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap…”
— Ezekiel 22:30

Why look for a man — if nothing can be done?

Because something can be done.

🛑 IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION ABOUT PROPHECY

Prophecy does not cancel responsibility.

Prophecy reveals what happens:

if people repent → mercy follows
if people refuse → judgment comes

The book of Jonah proves this.

God prophesied destruction over Nineveh.
The people repented.
God changed the outcome.

That alone proves:

The future is not fixed when repentance and obedience appear.

🧱 GOD’S ORIGINAL PURPOSE NEVER CHANGED

God’s purpose was always:

righteous people
reflecting His nature
governing the earth under Him

Sin damaged the relationship — not the assignment.

Redemption restores:

relationship with God
authority under God
responsibility before God

Salvation is not escape from earth.
Salvation is restoration for influence on earth.

✝️ WHY JESUS DID NOT IMMEDIATELY TAKE US TO HEAVEN

If the only goal was heaven, salvation would end with death.

But Jesus saves us — and leaves us here.

Why?

Because:

the earth still needs light
people still need truth
nations still need discipling

We are saved for assignment, not relocation.

🧠 SIMPLE TRUTH

The world does not get worse because God planned it.

The world gets worse when God’s people stop functioning.

💡 KEY KINGDOM STATEMENT

God does not abandon the earth.
He advances through obedient people.

🙏 ACTIVATION PRAYER

“Father God,
remove every mindset that causes passivity.
Help me understand why You placed me on this earth.
I refuse to live as a spectator.
Teach me my assignment.
Use my life for Your purpose.
In Jesus’ name, amen.”

📝 REFLECTION QUESTIONS

Have I ever believed that nothing can change?
How has that belief affected my prayer life?
What responsibility has God given mankind on earth?
Why would God look for intercessors if outcomes could not change?
What does it mean that God gave the earth to men?
