Lesson 1 — What Is the Final Judgment?
1. Definition
The Final Judgment is God’s last and ultimate act of justice toward all humanity and all fallen angels.
📖 Revelation 20:11–15 describes it in detail.
2. Timing
The Final Judgment occurs:
- After the Millennial Reign of Christ (Rev. 20:7–10)
- After Satan’s final rebellion is crushed
- After the resurrection of the wicked dead (Rev. 20:12)
This is the last judgment in the Bible.
Lesson 2 — The Great White Throne Judgment
1. Description
John sees:
- A great throne (authority)
- White (purity / holiness)
- Him who sat on it — God the Father, with Christ executing judgment (John 5:22)
All the wicked dead will stand before Him.
2. Who Will Stand Here?
✔ All unbelievers throughout history
✔ All whose names were not found in the Book of Life
✔ The resurrected wicked
✔ Fallen angels and demonic beings (Jude 6)
Not included here:
❌ The righteous
❌ Believers
❌ Those who were judged earlier at Christ’s Judgment Seat
Lesson 3 — The Two Major End-Time Judgments
1. The Judgment Seat of Christ (For Believers)
- Happens before the Millennium
- Based on rewards
- Not about salvation
- Not part of this Final Judgment
📖 2 Corinthians 5:10, Romans 14:10–12, 1 Corinthians 3:12–15
2. The Great White Throne Judgment (For the Wicked)
- Happens after the Millennium
- Based on sins and rejection of Christ
- Determines eternal punishment
📖 Revelation 20:11–15
Lesson 4 — The Books That Will Be Opened
Revelation 20:12 says books (plural) were opened, and then another book.
1. The Book of Life
Contains names of all who have received salvation.
If a name is not found here → eternal separation from God.
2. The Books of Works
God records:
- Words (Matt. 12:36)
- Thoughts
- Actions
- Motives
- Secret deeds (Rom. 2:16)
Every deed of the wicked becomes evidence against them.
3. The Book of the Law (The Word of God)
Jesus said His Word will judge all who reject it.
📖 John 12:48
Lesson 5 — The Basis of the Final Judgment
1. Rejection of Jesus Christ
This is the primary sin judged.
📖 John 16:9 — “Because they believed not on Me.”
2. Works of Unrighteousness
The wicked will be judged “according to their works.”
📖 Revelation 20:12–13
3. Degrees of Punishment
Jesus taught greater and lesser degrees of judgment.
- Luke 12:47–48
- Matthew 10:15
- Matthew 11:21–24
Not all punishment is identical.
Lesson 6 — The Resurrection of the Wicked Dead
Before judgment, all the wicked dead are resurrected.
This is called:
- The Resurrection of Damnation (John 5:29)
- The Second Resurrection
Their bodies are raised and fitted for eternal separation.
Lesson 7 — The Judgment of Fallen Angels
Fallen angels are held for this specific judgment.
📖 2 Peter 2:4, Jude 6
Believers will also judge angels (1 Corinthians 6:3), likely assisting in the sentencing of rebellious spirits.
Lesson 8 — The Final Sentence: The Lake of Fire
The Lake of Fire is:
🔥 The final destination of the wicked
🔥 The final destination of Satan
🔥 A place of eternal conscious punishment
🔥 A place of separation from God’s presence
🔥 The second death
📖 Revelation 20:14–15
“This is the second death.”
Lesson 9 — The Second Death
What is the second death?
Not cessation of existence. It is:
- Final separation from God
- Eternal spiritual death
- Eternal punishment
It is irreversible.
Lesson 10 — Why the Final Judgment Is Necessary
1. To demonstrate God’s justice
He must judge sin.
2. To vindicate God’s holiness
Sin is a violation of His nature.
3. To publicly defeat all rebellion
Every creature must bow.
4. To bring closure to the old creation
Judgment must occur before the New Heaven and New Earth.
Lesson 11 — What Happens After the Final Judgment?
1. The wicked enter the Lake of Fire forever
2. Death and Hades are destroyed
They are no longer needed.
3. God creates a New Heaven and New Earth
Revelation 21
4. The righteous live eternally with God
No more sin, pain, sorrow, or death.
