MODULE 1: INTRODUCTION TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD
1.1 — What Is the Kingdom of God?
The Kingdom of God is not:
✘ a religion
✘ a church denomination
✘ a feeling or experience
✘ going to heaven
The Bible definition of the Kingdom is:
“The rule, reign, governing influence of God over His territory, impacting it with His will, His purpose, His power, His laws, and His culture.”
The Kingdom has 5 main components:
- A King — God Himself
- A Territory — Heaven & Earth (Psalm 24:1)
- Citizens — redeemed sons & daughters
- Laws & Principles — the constitution of Scripture
- Culture — righteousness, peace, joy, love, truth, power
1.2 — Jesus’ Central Message
Many believe Jesus came to:
– start a religion
– teach morals
– bring Christianity
– perform miracles
But Jesus’ first, consistent, and final message was:
“Repent: For the Kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matt. 4:17)
He spoke more about the Kingdom than:
✔ heaven
✔ hell
✔ salvation
✔ grace
✔ faith
✔ love
✔ end times
The Kingdom was His obsession.
1.3 — Why Most Christians Don’t Understand the Kingdom
Because religion replaced the Kingdom.
Religion focuses on:
– trying to live right
– trying to get God’s approval
– trying to go to heaven
– rituals, rules, church attendance
But the Kingdom focuses on:
👉 identity, authority, assignment, purpose, dominion, and citizenship.
Religion makes people weak.
The Kingdom makes people powerful.
1.4 — The Gospel of the Kingdom
The Bible never says preach:
✘ the gospel of healing
✘ the gospel of prosperity
✘ the gospel of salvation
✘ the gospel of Christianity
Scripture says:
“This GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM shall be preached in all the world…” (Matt. 24:14)
The Church has preached salvation, but not Kingdom.
Salvation gets you into the Kingdom.
But the Kingdom gives you power, purpose, identity, and destiny.
1.5 — The Kingdom Is Present & Future
Some think the Kingdom is only:
– going to heaven
– the Millennial Reign
But Jesus said:
“The Kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:21)
“The Kingdom has come near you.” (Matt. 10:7)
The Kingdom is:
NOW (within and among us)
and
NOT YET (fully revealed at His return)
