MODULE 2 — THE KING: NATURE, CHARACTER & AUTHORITY OF GOD

Understanding the King is the foundation of understanding the Kingdom. You cannot understand the Kingdom of God unless you understand the God of the Kingdom.

🔰 2.1 — The Kingdom Begins With the King

In human governments:

– presidents are elected
– prime ministers selected
– leaders rotate
– authority is temporary

But in a Kingdom:

The King is the government and the government is the King.

His:

✔ personality
✔ character
✔ nature
✔ values
✔ morals
✔ desires
✔ intentions

—all become the law of the Kingdom.

This is why knowing God personally and intimately is essential for any Kingdom citizen.

🔥 2.2 — Who Is the King?

The Bible presents God as:

The Eternal King (1 Tim. 1:17)

The King of Kings (Rev. 19:16)

The Lord of Lords (Ps. 136:3)

The Great King Over All the Earth (Ps. 47:2)

The Only Sovereign (1 Tim. 6:15)

He is not just a ruler.

He is:

✔ Creator
✔ Owner
✔ Sustainer
✔ Lawgiver
✔ Healer
✔ Defender
✔ Provider
✔ Father
✔ Judge
✔ Master
✔ Shepherd
✔ Visionary
✔ Architect of all existence

Everything visible and invisible originates from Him.

2.3 — God’s Nature: The Essence of the King

To understand a Kingdom, you must understand:

the nature of the One who rules it.

The nature of God includes:

1. Holiness

He is 100% pure, perfect, and uncorrupted.
“Holy, holy, holy…” (Isa. 6:3)

2. Love

His nature is self-giving, sacrificial, unconditional love.
“God is love.” (1 John 4:8)

3. Righteousness

His standards are right, pure, and just.
“The Lord is righteous.” (Ps. 129:4)

4. Faithfulness

He never lies, never changes, never fails.
“Great is Your faithfulness.” (Lam. 3:23)

5. Goodness

Everything He does flows from His goodness.
“The Lord is good.” (Ps. 34:8)

6. Power

He is unlimited in ability and authority.
“Power belongs to God.” (Ps. 62:11)

7. Sovereignty

He answers to no one and His rule cannot be challenged.
“He does what He pleases.” (Ps. 115:3)

8. Mercy

Compassionate, forgiving, patient.
“His mercy endures forever.” (Ps. 136:1)

This nature becomes:

✔ the culture
✔ the laws
✔ the atmosphere
✔ the priorities
✔ the expectations
✔ the lifestyle

of the Kingdom.

👑 2.4 — God’s Character: The King’s Reputation

The character of the King determines the confidence of His citizens.

If a king is corrupt, the citizens fear.
If a king is unjust, the citizens suffer.
If a king is unstable, the citizens are insecure.

But God is:

Immutably good, consistently righteous, eternally trustworthy.

This makes the Kingdom:

✔ safe
✔ secure
✔ reliable
✔ stable
✔ predictable

Citizens can rest confidently in His character.

2.5 — God’s Authority: How the King Rules

Authority in the Kingdom is not voted on.

It is inherent.

God’s authority is:

Absolute

He has the final say.

Universal

His rule extends over heaven, earth, angels, demons, nations, kings, and all creation.

Unquestionable

No one can challenge His decisions.

Eternal

His authority had no beginning and will have no end.

Creative

He rules by His Word.
“Let there be…” (Gen. 1)

Delegated

He gives His authority to His sons and daughters.
“Behold, I give you authority…” (Luke 10:19)

This authority is what Jesus restored to humanity.

🌍 2.6 — The King Owns Everything

In a democracy, citizens own property.
In a Kingdom, the King owns everything.

“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.” (Ps. 24:1)

✔ All land
✔ All resources
✔ All people
✔ All nations
✔ All systems
✔ All environments
✔ All spiritual territories

God is:

Owner. Not manager. Not landlord. Owner.

This is why:

✔ Worship belongs to Him
✔ Obedience belongs to Him
✔ Tithes belong to Him
✔ Life belongs to Him

Citizens don’t “give God 10%.”
He owns 100%.

🔑 2.7 — The King’s Word Is Law

Whatever God says becomes:

✔ reality
✔ truth
✔ law
✔ decree
✔ eternal principle

This is why Jesus said:

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.” (Matt. 24:35)

And why submitting to God’s Word is not optional for Kingdom people.

💞 2.8 — The King Is Also a Father

This is what makes God’s Kingdom unlike any earthly kingdom.

He is:

✔ King — with power
✔ Father — with love

He rules with authority
and embraces with affection.

This creates:

✔ confidence without fear
✔ obedience without oppression
✔ devotion without force

This is why Jesus taught us to pray:

**“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.

Your Kingdom come…” (Matt. 6:9-10)**

The Kingdom flows from the Father-heart of God.

🔥 2.9 — Knowing the King Produces Pursuit

When believers truly see who God is:

– His beauty
– His majesty
– His wisdom
– His power
– His love

They can’t help but pursue Him.

People do not seek the Kingdom because they don’t know the King.

But once they see Him:

🔥 hunger awakens
🔥 desire grows
🔥 worship rises
🔥 obedience becomes joy
🔥 prayer becomes passion
🔥 holiness becomes natural

Revelation of the King is the fuel of Kingdom life.
