📘 MODULE 4 — Heaven (The Third Heaven & The New Jerusalem)

What the Bible Actually Teaches About God’s Dwelling Place and the Eternal Home of the Redeemed

Lesson 1 — Understanding the Three Heavens

The Bible clearly teaches three levels of “heaven.”

1. The First Heaven — The Atmospheric Heaven

Where birds fly, clouds move, and weather happens.

Scripture:

  • Genesis 1:20 — “fowl fly… in the open firmament of heaven.”

2. The Second Heaven — The Celestial / Cosmic Heaven

Outer space — sun, moon, stars, planets.

Scripture:

  • Genesis 1:14–18 — lights in the heavens
  • Psalm 19:1 — “the heavens declare the glory of God”

3. The Third Heaven — God’s Dwelling Place

This is where God’s throne is.
This is where Paradise is now located.

Scripture:

  • 2 Corinthians 12:2–4 — Paul taken to the “third heaven”
  • Psalm 11:4 — “The Lord’s throne is in heaven”
  • Revelation 4 — The Throne Room vision

Lesson 2 — What Is the Third Heaven?

The Third Heaven is:

  • The place of God’s throne
  • The headquarters of the Kingdom of God
  • The current location of Paradise
  • The temporary home of the redeemed
  • A realm of unimaginable beauty
  • A dimension, not a galaxy

Proof:

  • 2 Cor. 5:8 — absent from the body = present with the Lord
  • Philippians 1:23 — “depart and be with Christ”
  • Luke 23:43 — thief went to Paradise immediately

3. No Soul Sleep

The Bible shows consciousness after death.
